We're Committed To Making Your Move Go Smoothly

At Safe To Go Movers LLC, we care for your valuable assets and we are committed to making your residential or commercial move go smoothly. Here's a list of some useful tips that are sure to help you plan your move smartly.
  • Start your packing early and avoid leaving anything at the last minute.
  • Start your packing with the rooms that are not needed immediately.
  • Stack dishes facing upward when packing and avoid overpacking the boxes.
  • Use wrapping paper to wrap fine China.
  • Avoid using duct tape; clear packing tape will not peel or leave marks.
  • Label the boxes clearly on tops and sides, and make your movers aware of the content of the boxes.
  • Pack your valuables like jewelry, family heirlooms, and other unique items yourself. Also, make sure to pack items such as jewelry, sports memorabilia, photo albums, and other priceless family items yourself. If possible, try moving these items in your car, or as carry-on luggage if size allows.
  • Don't get rid of your kid's favorite things or toys before the move. It will help them deal with the change of home.
  • When moving appliances, be sure to check the owner's manual for any special instructions on moving the appliance.
  • If you're taking apart furniture and other items, be sure to tape all the extra parts and hardware to the main base.
  • For books, use small boxes only.
  • Use wardrobe boxes to make closets easier to pack; clothes can be moved right from the drawers and placed in suitcases.
  • Try packing all electrical equipment, like stereos and computers, in their original boxes. If the original box is not available, use bubble wrap when packing these items.
  • By law, a moving company is not allowed to transport hazardous materials such as gasoline, bottled gasses, and other flammables, ammunition, or explosives.
  • Avoid mixing items from different rooms in the same box.
  • Put all your essential items, which you'll need immediately after the move, in one box. Make sure that the box is the last thing added to the truck and it is clearly labeled.
  • Always pack and unpack breakables over a padded surface.
  • Don't forget to tape the boxes.
  • Make your reservations for professional movers two to four weeks before your planned moving day.
  • Start cleaning your closets, attic, and basement the moment you decide to move.
  • Defrost your fridge the day before you move.
  • Keep some extra cash ready for any unexpected expenses on the day of moving.
  • If you're relying on your friends or family for help, it's important to have a back-up plan if they don't show up.
  • Avoid using boxes without tops
  • Use customized boxes when packing fine China and clothing if possible.
